As we celebrate the closing of Escaramuza, the Poetics of Home, guests are invited to join us for free poetry and writing workshops that explore the themes of the exhibition.

2:00 PM to 2:45 PM | Passing the Reigns: Preservation & Change with Maria Miranda Maloney
Using the photography from Escaramuza, the Poetics of Home, participants will draw on images to explore memories of land, family, inheritance, and community to write about rituals, stories, and inheritances that future future generations may preserve, transform, or reclaim.

2:45 PM to 3:00 PM | Breathing into History with ire'ne lara silva
History is often reduced to a dry recitation of dates and places, but using the Mexican Revolution streetcar tour, family history, and the Escaramuza exhibit as a launching point, this workshop will explore breathing life and embodied human experience into the past.
